Zero - the film that led to 2/3rd of its lead cast to take a temporary career break. Was this film’s failure a breaking point for SRK & Anushka after a string of flops?

ZeRo's fans prove this community is a shithole

Main Post:

How can a guy admit to being a fucking child predator, not even take it back and just say he'll sue the victim, AND HIS FUCKING SHEEPLE just go "omg thooo he lost so much weight he's so CHADD!!!"

Fuck the smash community. We all like to pretend we are the "wholesome" fighting game community, compared to "those edgy" fighters like Guilty Gear, but in reality we host the shittiest frat community of the scene. If this is how we treat actual dangers to the community, banning ZeRo is not going to suddenly make tournaments more open spaces, since they are still infested by people who are not just fine about ZeRo, but openly supporting him despite the """allegations""" never being disproven, nor denied.

This is the "smashrage" sub, don't tell me I can't be angry here. I would take ten more years of shitty netplay if it meant this community would stop gobbling ZeRo's dick.

EDIT: And now he's on my instagram feed, kill me.

Top Comment: Be angry man. But the difference between smash and other competitive scenes I personally feel is largely due to the way in person events are managed. Namely, run by children hosting children, with the primary demographic localized right on either side of legal adulthood including the TOs. Unsupervised minors getting hotel rooms next to adult players, attending the same parties with alcohol shared without a thought. None of this excuses Zero, dude is a creep and his fans are gross. But that's not unique to smash. What's unique to smash is the high frequency for a small base, and I think it's because no real adults are making sure minors are safe. If Nintendo was officially hosting, you can bet there would be safeguards in place because they're not interested in lawsuits. Smash being grassroots and primarily youth is a recipe for disaster.

Zero: Why did he have to make this movie 😭

Main Post:

Oh dear. Watching this movie was so difficult. So difficult. Unequivocally this is the WORST movie we’ve seen of srk. And let’s be honest as fans, there are some bad movies out there.

First let’s talk about the technical aspects. There are too many things wrong with this movie. Firstly the plot makes no sense. Is there even a plot? No character’s motivations make sense. The makers want too far in the fantastical zone. The acting is average at best. SRK just hasn’t done a good enough job which for us is a big disappointment:(.

The editing is weird. Story jumps from here to there too fast and you get confused in between. Direction, writing, acting. Everything played second fiddle to the star of the show, the VFX. The VFX is definitely good. They had BTS videos of how much effort was put into shooting the movie, and that shows.

A bad movie is fine. There are a lot of bad movies, and you accept that as a fan. But where the movie really screws up is in its representation of people living with cerebral palsy and dwarfism. It is token representation at best and horrible characterisation at worst.

Especially for us while watching this, it was personal. One of us is actually a wheelchair user and Anushka’s representation of a wheelchair user left a lot to be desired for for them. I’ll let the details of it be heard in their voice through the podcast itself.

Sigh. Overall a disappointing experience as an SRK fan. But glad we got it over with early on.

As usual curious to know what you guys think? Do you also think it’s as problematic. Did any of you liked it? If yes, what did you like? Do you also hate it as much as we did? Rant away if you. Let us know your thoughts.

As usual, hear us talk about it in detail on the podcast:

Top Comment: The first half of this movie is actually good and entertaining. It's the 2nd half which goes completely wrong. It felt like they had a strong script in place for the first half and for the second half they just went with the flow. I did not find any issues with SRK's acting in this movie, he did really well. Main issue was that it had no story/direction in the 2nd half.

Zero users, do any of you use the paid version? Is it worth the money compared to the free version?

Top Comment: I don't, have been using it for over 4 years, didn't see a need (I don't even know what it does, I just need the timer and like the awards lol)

Theorlandogg's laughable response to ZeRo appearing at Cirque 3.5

Main Post:

I don't care to not editorialize the title. Letting a sex pest into the venue and giving this shit of a response doesn't deserve grace.

Top Comment: Also, Jake tweeted that CaptainZack was at Cirque 2? They're like actively collecting banned players at that point lmao.

Thoughts on Terminator Zero

Main Post:

Just had a conversation with an old friend about Zero... we’re old enough that we saw T1, T2, T3 in the theaters when first released. Have watched all the movies multiple times.

My basic impression and what I’d say to fans:

If you’re a Terminator fan, watch Zero.

But also true...

If you’re a Terminator fan, you’re not missing anything if you skip it.

It’s not really expanding the lore. It’s a remix of Genisys and Animatrix 3rd-eye energy with plot elements stolen from I, Robot. The fundamental Terminator tropes are dead-horse beaten once again like they had a checkbox list of fan service items. All that was missing was a Sarah Connor appearance and some Guns ‘n Roses soundtrack.

The whole thing felt like a bit of a missed opportunity.

Top Comment: Honestly, as a huge fan of the original 2, I didn't particularly enjoy it. Every character is miserable, depressed or angry from the very start. And the human time traveler lady was OTT, able to shrug off significant injuries and engage in a fist fight a T800. And I don't find that the new time travel rules fit with the existing movies.

Why is Zero considered so bad to play?

Main Post:

I want to try him because his power seems useful, but he seems to have a negative stigma attached to him, so I don't want to basically throw away a round over trying a shit op I should add, I mainly do solo que and am by no means a high rank player obviously

Top Comment: In no way is he shit
